A beautiful wine made from Canyonview, an exceptional terraced
bench vineyard hovering above Trout Creek in Summerland.
With hand-selected grapes picked over two different harvests, the concrete- fermented-wine underwent an EXTREME lees stirring regimen: multiple times per week, for three months, and no malolactic fermentation.
Our resulting Chardonnay is an elegant wine, with extremely bright citrus; lime zest on aroma and front of palate, crisp acidic structure with full mid palate (contribution from lees stirring) and a long, crisp and chalky finish. It's all about the oysters with this jewel of a wine.

Haywire's first Chardonnay, Raised in Concrete™, garners praise:
Tidings Magazine - Harry Hertscheg
89 Points - "Clean citrus and apple aromas. Tangy peach and melon flavours burst on the weighty, lees-driven mid-palate. The long chalky and briny finish fascinates."
Icon Scores - Liam Carrier
"This Chard matches the intensity of the liveliness of Sauvignon Blanc yet retains its varietal character displaying Chablis-like lemon/lime and strong mineral characters plus Okanagan orchard fruit and ripeness. This is a top-notch, un-oaked Chardonnay to match with seafood options like oysters and simply prepared lobster."
