Haywire Supports Chefs and Athletes
In other news, Haywire is supporting Gold Medal Plates competitions across the country. We are big fans of the competition, so it was an easy decision to get involved.

After winning Gold with Cactus Club Cafe's Chef Rob Feenie in Vancouver last year, and also competing in pairings with Chef Daren Bergeron of Decca 77 in Montreal, and Chef Brent Lloyd of Simple Chef Catering in Saskatoon, we knew we had to be involved again.
Shown at right is the Vancouver winners from last year: L-R: Joël Watanabe of Bao Bei, Rob Feenie of Cactus Club Cafe (holding Haywire), & Dale Mackay of Ensemble (now closed).
We are so pleased that the chefs used our wines last year, as our goal at Haywire is to make wines that complement a wide assortment of dishes; wines that are lively, aromatic, and fresh. The wines' acceptance by chefs in various regions tells us we are on the right track.
Our role this year
Our critically-acclaimed Haywire Rosé 2010 will be on tables in front of about 600 guests in each city across the country, providing guests the chance to taste one of BC's best wines as they celebrate the chefs, wines, and athletes.
Gold Medal Plates is the ultimate celebration of Canadian Excellence in cuisine, wine, entertainment and athletic achievement. Celebrating in 10 cities across Canada in 2012, Gold Medal Plates features superb Canadian wines, premier chefs and Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes, in a competition to crown a gold, silver and bronze medal culinary team in each city, and subsequently nation-wide. Since 2004, this event has received tremendous support and accolades all across Canada, and generated a combined net total of over $6 million for Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes! For more information, visit the Gold Medal Plates website www.goldmedalplates.com.
Canadian Olympic Foundation – The Beneficiary of the events: Net proceeds from Gold Medal Plates are given to the Canadian Olympic Foundation to support high performance programs such as Own the Podium. More ranting and rah rah on rosé!
If you know us, you know that we know that rosé is good any time of the year. So we continue to actively encourage its consumption, no matter the season! (In fact we are drinking some right now...)

Anyway, we keep telling you how awesome this wine is but we are not alone in our thoughts; really: this wine rules!
To back up what we are saying about being one of BC’s best, here is quotable praise for the rosé from some of Canada's most discerning palates.
At right, we are happy to share that Beppi Crosariol gave this rosé a huge compliment in the Globe and Mail.
